It All Begins with a Dream

It all begins with an idea, and then follow that dream

I have toyed with the idea of being self employed for as long as I can remember. To take the plunge and actually do it is another matter. The thought of actually being in charge of how much you can earn is scary. In the sense you can earn very little, or way too much. Staying employed seemed like the sensible, safer option. But nothing happens when you play it safe.

September 2021, I dipped a toe and rented a room in a salon on a Saturday. Here I was 40 years of age, still working a Saturday job. Then something happened. With Covid and the governments hit and miss announcements, I was having some time away from work. While I was cleaning my skirting boards, and tending to me little dudes needs, I started to think about why I wasn’t in control of my own working hours.

While being off work, I managed to get up to date on housework and washing, home cook meals, sit and do the homework with the biggest dude, and spend some time with the hubby and my littlest dude.

I read, and still took on appointments at the salon. I had this overwhelming feeling that I could go self employed and be in charge of my own working hours and still have time for the children and the hubby.

So I handed in my notice and an employee and became a freelance, self employed Makeup Artist!

Holy Moly. I did it.!!!!!

I am I worried. Actually no, Im not, and it’s not because we are rolling in money either, I just feel really comfortable with the idea.

Sometimes when you have a recurring thought, you just can’t ignore it. You sometimes have to follow that gut feeling and take control.

I wonder what will happen next.

Stay tuned…..
